10 Affiliate Marketing Strategies
(To CRUSH It in 2024)

Strategy #1: Email Marketing

Email marketing is one of the best marketing strategies on the planet.

It requires you to build an email list which is an asset.

Because an email list can produce profits for many years to come.

In fact:

According to Oberlo, you’ll make around $40 for every $1 spent:

Further more:

You own your email list, and this can never be taken from you.

Whether you’re just starting out, or you’re a seasoned pro, email marketing is a must!

Strategy #2: Blogging

Looking for an inexpensive marketing channel?

Consider creating an affiliate website.

Not only is blogging inexpensive, but it can also drive long term results.

Blogging is also a great way to build trust and rapport with an audience.

Further more:

Implement a few SEO tactics, and you can get free (targeted) traffic from Google.

Strategy #3: A Marketing Funnel

A marketing funnel is a process you send potential customers through to convert them from prospect into leads, then from leads into customers.

The funnel itself is a series of webpages that are “connected” to one another:

Marketing funnels are a powerful way to convert traffic into leads, and then into sales and repeat sales.

Strategy #4: Webinar Presentation

In the B2B industry, 76% of buyers have used webinars in the past 12 months to research purchasing decisions:

Affiliate marketing strategies (Webinars)

This means a webinar could be a great place to teach and educate your audience, before pitching an affiliate product at the end of the presentation.

While webinars are a great way to educate and connect with an audience on a deep level, it may not be an ideal “stand alone” strategy for an affiliate.

I’d recommend only doing webinars when you already have an email list, and when selling high ticket products.

Why?

Because having an email list first makes it easy to acquire webinar registrants, compared to advertising the webinar with ads.

And based on the effort required to do a webinar, it’s best to do them when selling expensive products.

If you’re selling inexpensive products, it’s easier (and more efficient) to sell those using other strategies, such as email marketing or blogging.

Strategy #5: Create Your Own Course

This is a killer way to promote affiliate products.

Simply create a course, then sell (recommend) products within the course.

For example, here’s a course I created:

best types of content for affiliate marketers - courses

It’s called “The Beginners Guide To Affiliate Marketing.” (Which you can sign up to for free, here.)

Within the course I promote affiliate products.

Creating a video course is really easy to do, and requires just a few tools.

Here’s what I use:

ClickFunnels for the membership site.

To record and edit videos ScreenFlow, then Keynote for powerpoint presentations.

It takes a bit of work to create a course.

However:

Based on the amount of value and trust it can provide, and the rapport it builds with your audience, it’s well worth the effort.

Your course can be free, or you can put a price tag on it and sell it as a product.

Strategy #6: Banner Advertising

This is one of the easiest ways to promote affiliate products.

Here’s how it works:

Most companies you’re an affiliate for will have banner ads you can advertise.

Simply get the code needed for the banner, then embed that code on your site.

Much like JohnChow does on his site:

Example of using banner ads on an affiliate website

When someone clicks on the ad and purchases, you’ll be credited for the referral.

You’re not limited to just placing them on your site either.

You can directly advertise your affiliate banners on other people’s sites with ad networks such as AdRoll.

A quick word of warning about banners…

If you place them on your own site, don’t have them all over the place.

It’ll make your site look spammy, and affect how fast your site loads.

Strategy #7: Offer Bonuses

This strategy is used by the worlds biggest companies.

Why?

Because it works.

Simply offer some kind of bonus to your audience as an incentive for purchasing a product through your affiliate link.

Here’s an example of this strategy by legendary marketer, Eben Pagan:

How to use bonuses to increase affiliate sales

This bonus offer is so powerful, because the value of the bonuses (over $24k) is more than the price tag of the product he’s promoting.

This is definitely a strategy every affiliate can benefit from.

Strategy #8: Create A Resources/Tools Page

Another great (yet simple) marketing strategy.

And one that’s used by many bloggers, including myself with my affiliate marketing tools post:

Within the post, I list tools I use for affiliate marketing, and what I believe to be the best feature of each:

Example of an affiliate tools page

I then include an affiliate link within each product listing, so readers can check out the product.

If they buy, awesome, I’ll get a commission for each referred sale.

A resources page is quick and easy to create, and it works great for promoting affiliate products.

Strategy #9: Offer Discounts

Companies all over the world deploy this strategy because it works.

BlueHost regularly offers discounts, especially on public holidays:

An example of offering discounts

Offering discounts works great, but you will need permission first from your vendor.

If you’re an affiliate who refers a lot of business, most vendors will be happy for you to offer discounts to your audience.

They understand if your audience get’s discounts, they’ll acquire more customers.

A win win situation for all parties involved.

Strategy #10: Podcasting

Podcasting has grown rapidly over the years.

In fact:

A study by Nielsen shows 50% of homes in the US are podcast fans:

Podcasting statistics

Which shows just how popular podcasts really are.

If podcasting is the route for you, it’s beneficial to also have your own website. (Though, it’s not a requirement for podcasting.)

Having your own website allows you to have a “main hub”.

You’ll also be able to integrate podcast episodes throughout your site.

Further more:

You can place affiliate links within content on your site, then direct your audience to that content from podcast episodes.

And if you wanted to get even more out of your podcast content, send the audio to Rev.

They’ll transcribe the audio and give you back a text version, which you can then use as a blog post, eBook, or PDF etc.

If podcasting is for you, BuzzSprout can help with getting that set up.
